Epic Movie
January 27th 2007 13:06
So tonight I went to see Epic Movie at Indro.
And I actually liked it!
Seeing the previews of it reminded me of how deplorable Date Movie was (and under the impression it was just a lamo rip off so I automatically categorised Epic as 'stupid movie I have to waste $6.50 on'). But I gritted my teeth and laughed real laughs throughout the whole movie.
Sure there was quite a lot of cliches that made you cringe and think 'why the hell did they do that??' but overall it was enjoyable and the type of movie you would have to see RIGHT NOW to understand the pop culture references.
And I was totally blown away by the cast. They weren't big names but LC from Laguna Beach made an appearance (with one line) and the same guy who was the lead in Date Movie was a lead in this film as well. Methinks he's gonna carve a career in these types of movies like Carmen Electra.
Still, after Epic Movie, I think we've had enough with these type of movies. The Scary Movie franchise was enough.
And yeah, kinda tame post today.
